Welcome in the Honns B.Ed Teaching of Creative Writing module.

In this module we will concentrate in the interactive lesson on the writing of poetry.
This blog is, however, designed to integrate the same principles of KLASKENADES on story writing.

It will be your responsibility, dear Student, to work through the blog step-by-step – as I open pages for you – and you must integrate story writing in your own learning process during the next few months.

You will be assessed continuously in the following ways:
1. Your participation in the blog (never with more than 100 words);
2. A portfolio that you compile with your own learning and insights … thoughts, reflections, stories, poems;
3. Discussion in the “Comments” block at the end of each page – it can be in English or Afrikaans;
4. Useful links that you make us aware of;
5. A mini research project;
6. An annotated bibliography of resources that is useful in your mini research project;
7. An interactive lesson that you present to a small group of learners of your choice (+ 5 learners) to write creatively;
8. An openbook examination on your laptop on a date that I will make known to you;
9. Peer assessment of your poems and stories.

In the Comments / Kommentaar block at the end of this page you can tell us why you chose to enroll for this module.

On the page on Creativity and imagination (“Kreatiwiteit”) you can post your haiku that was the product of the exercise with trees and free writing.

Furthermore you can post your pantoum that had its origin in the exercise with music and mandalas on the page about Emotions and Feelings (“Emosies”)

Now you can move with the following link to the page on the writing process (“Skryfproses“).

  1. Ek het werklik dié deel oor die gebruik van beeldspraak en metafore baie sinvol gevind en sou dit bitter graag op my leerling van laasjaar wou probeer het. Hierdie manier laat beeldspraak werklik leef!
